Al-Alfi Appointed President of the Egypt-Kuwait Economic Cooperation Council

Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, has selected Egyptian members of the Egypt-Kuwait Economic Cooperation Council, with Moataz Al-Alfi, CEO of EK Holding, having been appointed as Council President. The Egyptian members are: Ahmed El Seweidi (Egytech Cables), Ibrahim El Araby (Toshiba El Araby), Attef Orabi (Acrow Misr for Scaffolding and Framework), Mohamed Mohsen (Arab Contractors), Ahmed Fikry Abdelwahab (Egyptian German Automotive Company), Medhat Khalil (Raya Telecom), Nadir El Biblawy (Gezira Travel), Samia Khafaga (Sama Furniture), Alaa Sabaa (Beltone Financial), Mahmoud Attallah (CI Capital), Mohamed Ihab (Atlantic Industries Limited), Ahmed Meky (Gulf Bridge International), Maged El Manzilawy (Tiba Manzilawy Group), Samir Ismail (Sakara for Citrus Preparation), Hassan Abdelaziz (President of the Egyptian Construction Association), Dr. Rida Al Ahwaal (the Kuwaiti Chamber of Industry’s economic and legal advisor), Sherif Ziyat (Egypt Company for Glass Industries), Amal Ibrahim Abdelaziz (managing director of the Heritage Village), Tarek Tawfik (Federation of Egyptian Industries), Mohamed El Amin (Chamber of Audio-visual Media Industry). When deciding on appointees for the council, Abel Nour aimed to select individuals from a wide variety of industry backgrounds, and leaders of companies that have the potential to enhance business ties between Egypt and Kuwait.

As part of his role as president, Al-Alfi is required to provide Abdel Nour with a biannual report detailing the council’s various initiatives. The report will also provide information on the state of Egypt-Kuwait business relations and ways of enhancing bilateral ties between the countries.
